The old Tonkin cotton factory was built in 1898 by French and since that date generations of weavers, exclusively women at the time, have had their lives attached to the factory. This song, written around 1970, is dedicated to them through the image of a century-old badamier located at the entrance and having seen millions of weavers' steps from the grandmother to the granddaughter. As usual, the fate of the most modest have revealed the most beautiful musical inspirations from the composer.
